When it comes to authentic Nashville style chicken in Southern California, Hotville Chicken is the place to be. Chef and owner Kim Prince comes from a long line of hot chicken chefs and aficionados– her great-uncle, Thornton Prince, is credited with inventing hot chicken in Nashville in the 1930s! Kim carries the tradition on today through the restaurant’s secret family recipe for its hot chicken. Hotville Chicken has been named one of Food & Wine’s Best New Restaurants in America.

Dulan’s Soul Food is a LA institution. Adolf Dulan, the self-proclaimed “King of Soul Food”, opened Dulan’s Soul Food in 1999 after opening and running several successful food establishments starting in 1975. Today, Dulan’s Soul Food is owned and operated by Greg Dulan, Adolf’s son, and has locations in Inglewood and Crenshaw. This year, Greg Dulan was named a finalist in the James Beard Awards “Best Restaurateur” category, one of the highest accolades in the culinary industry to receive!
